As Liverpool head down to South Wales for their 1:30 kick off, the players will be feeling a little bit anxious about this game.
Liverpool have not endured an easy ride so far since Swansea got promoted to the Premier League, with the reds managing only to pick up a point in their last three meetings. I wouldn’t go as far as saying the results were that important, rather the message sent through the manner in which Swansea played Liverpool off the park on all three occasions.
This season Liverpool expected it to be different, having taken manager Brendan Rodgers and Star-player Joe Allen from the seaside club, the balanced seemed to have turned. However Swansea were shown to have the last laugh as they comfortable dispatched with Liverpool 3-1, as Liverpool licked the wounds after being guilty of underestimating their opposition, by playing fringe men such as Downing, Henderson and youngster Yesil.
This time round Liverpool will have to more cautious if they stand any chance of denying Swansea on the brake, because they have pace. Swansea obviously have that balance between attack and defensive which Liverpool don’t seem to have just yet. So it will be an interesting watch to see how this match turns out. Obviously going into this game Liverpool will probably deemed favorites due to their standing in the game, however as Swansea have shown, they are the ultimate underdog. Underestimate them if you dare.
So for my prediction I think this will a very tough game, hence why I think this will end 1-1. However I could see Swansea edging it if Michu has a better day than Suarez. I think the match will be decided on whether they convert their chances, and also who dominates the game in midfield, which will be another interesting one. One match up to be aware of is Ki Sung Yueng and Joe Allen. These players looked very evenly match, with “Ki” (as it’s put on his shirt) seeming to edge the last meeting. However as Ki has only just back from injury I not sure if he will play this one, if he does however it should also be another interesting encounter.
