The promising Arsenal defender who could hold the key to Arsene Wenger’s defensive woes sooner rather than later

There are testing times for Arsenal and manager Arsene Wenger, who is facing arguably the toughest spell of his Gunners career.

The Frenchman’s two-year contract renewal continues to divides the Gunners fans lining the bar here in the Tavern and it seems that the majority of them remain divided as to whether he’s the right man for the job going forward.

The poor league placing last season did little to instil any confidence in his ability to lead the team forward but the FA Cup win over Chelsea provided welcome relief and arguably kept him in his job at the helm at the Emirates.

But there are good things to be positive about in London right now and one of the big things Gunners fans should be optimistic about is the continued development of young defender Krystian Bielik.

The £1million-rated defender showed off his credentials in a loan move at Birmingham City last season and the Blues fans were delighted with his performances, despite the struggles under former manager Gianfranco Zola.

A loan move to Norwich City is looking increasingly likely for next season and it’ll be another great chance for the Pole to get vital first-team experience as his development continues.

But looking ahead and judging him from his season at St Andrews, he could be a man to keep a real eye on over the next couple of years.

Rob Holding has come on leaps and bounds whilst Calum Chambers is also ticking along nicely too. But Bielik is another young, versatile defender that is showing signs that he could make it at the top in the future.

He needs more game-time, more management of course but he’s a young man that could prove to be the answer to Wenger’s defensive woes sooner than you might think.

Gunners fans- have you been impressed with Bielik? Leave your thoughts down below!
