The Spanish forward who should leave Arsenal this summer if he’s not offered more games next season

These have been some of the toughest times in the history of Arsenal football club and it’s clear some of their supporters that drink here in the bar that things are going downhill.

The majority of supporters remain split on the future of Arsene Wenger and it’s certainly going to be a tough one to call for Gunners bosses this summer.

But there’s one man that has cut an even more frustrated figure than Wenger this season and that’s Spanish forward Lucas Perez, who has seriously struggled for game-time in recent weeks.

Of course, it was never going to be easy for the former Deportivo man to get into the squad on a permanent basis but 21 appearances in all competitions doesn’t look good for a man that, a couple of seasons ago, had aspirations to get into the Spanish international side.

It’s difficult to see where his future lies too. Arsenal paid a lot of money for his services last summer and they’re unlikely to accept a minimal offer for him over the coming weeks or months.

But if Perez wants to kickstart his career, he needs to start getting back on the pitch and writing his own headlines again, as he did in Spain because he’s simply not being given the chance to do that in England.

It’s been tough on him this season- even when the going has been tough for the Gunners, he hasn’t managed to see much match action.

If Perez was thinking about his long-term career then he needs to be thinking about asking the gaffer if he’ll be in the first-team plans next time out. Otherwise, a loan move away from London might be what’s best for club and player.

Arsenal fans- what do  you make of Perez’s predicament this season? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
