The Premier League is said to be one of the hardest leagues in the world which emphasises the need of hard work. Whilst some players such as Carlos Tevez don’t work hard enough, there are just as many players who don’t stop running!
Here is my top 5 Premier League grafters:
Robin Van Persie
As the top goalscorer for the 2011/12 Premier League campaign so far, there is no doubt that RVP works to his full potential. The Arsenal fans even go as far to say “he scores when he wants”.
However, whilst sometime Van Persie doesn’t have enough support up front or misses some crucial targets, he has recently slumped in his goalscoring which has consequently only placed him 5th on the list.
A goalscoring record even Van Persie might envy. Scoring 9 goals in 8 games, Cisse has left his mark in the Premier League by helping Newcastle challenge for a Champions League spot this season. He has scored crucial goals, most recently against Swansea, which has helped them consolidate their fine form.
Although unlike the others he has a poor score tally, Carrick has helped Manchester United climb their way to the top of the table. He has made 24 appearances this campaign but his simple passes and constant running has helped Man United in their battle for top spot.
The Bolton goalkeeper is a surprising entry into the list but he has helped his team keep down the number of goals conceded.
He was recently selected in the BBC team of the week for April the 1st and at the age of 24, he has a lot more to offer. Despite being beaten by Tim Howard’s shot on the 4th of January, he has recently helped his team in winning points versus QPR and also Wolves. He even kept out RVP in February where the match ended a draw.
There is no football fan who can say that Scott Parker has not put his everything into this Premier League season. His success rates of tackling is the highest one in the Spurs team and his passing rate is close to sublime.
In yesterday’s game versus Sunderland, Scott Parker only misplaced 7 out of his 108 passes showing his accuracy and as of the end of March, The N17 Enforcer has made the most tackles in the Barclays Premier League this season which totalled to 99. His form was recently rewarded with England captaincy versus Spain but also he is the vice-captain of Spurs.
