Arsenal fans have grown accustomed to dreading this time of year in recent seasons. Last week Arsene Wenger suffered one of the worst weeks in his long Arsenal career, first getting dumped out of the FA Cup at home to Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers, before effectively being dumped out of the Champions League by Bayern Munich just four days later after a 1-3 home leg defeat.
It means Arsenal are set for their eighth year without a trophy unless they can produce a miraculous Champions League recovery and means qualifying for next seasons competition is their sole aim for the remainder of the campaign.
Wenger has come in for more criticism than at any other point in his Arsenal career throughout this season and there are genuine questions being asked as to whether he remains the right man for the job.
The fans have grown frustrated with the lack of new big name signings and the disappointing results and performances.
You feel it is absolutely imperative for Wenger to make sure his side finish in the top four this season, but with a two point gap to make up on fourth placed Chelsea, it is going to be nip and tuck all the way to the finish line.
They have arguably the easiest run in of all the teams competing around them, with a tough trip to Tottenham due on Sunday, but after that Manchester United are due at Emirates Stadium in late April, as the last remaining team currently above them in the table left to play.
It’s going to be extremely tight and tense no matter what, but we have listed five things that may help Arsenal to ensure that top four finish and give the fans something to cheer at the end of what has been a difficult campaign to say the least.
