Here in the Football Transfer Tavern where the huge TV screen used to be placed during the transfer window for us to monitor exactly what was happening, we have now constructed a huge wall chart – and been rather inventive with exactly what is on there.
With half taken up with our fantasy football rankings (which our landlord is doing rather well in) we have spent our time thinking about what could go on the other half – and have come up with the starting eleven that Spurs could have had this summer – if all their transfer wishes had come true!
Given Daniel Levy pulled off some rather amazing deals as deadline day approached, smashing the club’s transfer record time and time again, we did have a little difficulty in thinking of a starting eleven. After all, the North London club bought most of the players they were linked with!
We did manage to come up with a fair few however, and noted that this summer it has been all about the attacking players for the Lilywhites – with few defenders being linked with a move to the club –and not very many goalkeepers.
Not that we would be looking to bring in another keeper if we had Hugo Lloris and Brad Friedel at our disposal either! With that in mind, here is the starting eleven that Spurs could have had this summer had all their deals come off.
