The Tottenham ‘transfer XI’ they could’ve had this summer

Romelu Lukaku Tottenham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are in agreement that the summer transfer window was quieter than most would have liked.

Twelve months ago, the Lillywhites were by far and away the busiest of all the Premier League clubs, spending big money on a host of new players following the world record sale of Gareth Bale.

Chairman Daniel Levy seemed somewhat reluctant to delve into his pockets this time around, considering the limited success last seasons new recruits brought.

New boss Mauricio Pochettino was backed to some extent, with the signings of Michel Vorm, Ben Davies, Eric Dier, DeAndre Yedlin, Federico Fazio and Benjamin Stambouli.

But if reports are to be believed, Pochettino missed out on a host of top transfer targets this summer – enough in fact to create an entire starting eleven!

Here, we have identified the transfer eleven Tottenham could’ve had following the close of the transfer window.
