Since the mass exodus of ageing Premier League stars to play in the MLS across the pond started, there have a been one or two notable returns to Europe by legends of former glory.
There was, David Beckham, once a Manchester United star, jetted off to LA Galaxy to ply his trade but made a remarkable return to Europe for PSG in Ligue 1. And of course there was Thierry Henry, who made a sensational return to Arsenal whilst at New York Red Bulls, scoring a goal in the F.A Cup vs. Leeds United.
It is tales that all die hard fans long for, their talisman returning to grace their former club once again. But it looks like Liverpool fans will be enjoying no such happiness any time soon!
Since the departure of their Captain Steven Gerrard, many punters here in the Transfer Tavern had been expecting him to return to Anfield at some point.
However, today the Telegraph are dashing these hopes, with reports that the MLS Commissioner, Don Barber, has publicly stated the former England International will not be returning to Liverpool this January!
