Some of Arsenal's best players are coming into a good run of form, and for the first time in years - the Gunners actually look like a genuine threat in the title race this season.

In what could be Arsene Wenger's last season at the Emirates, he will no doubt want to place down a marker - and he will need a couple of Arsenal's stars to be on form all year in order to succeed.

Shkodran Mustafi

Shkodran Mustafi has impressed since arriving in London, and it would appear that Arsene Wenger has solved his long-standing defensive problem.

Laurent Koscielny has always been a top defender, but defensive partners like Mertesacker and Gabriel are not at the same level - and Mustafi certainly is.

Defensive instability has been a problem for Wenger in recent years, and with Koscielny alongside an in-form Mustafi - that should no longer be an issue.

Mustafi could be the difference maker this season.

 Mesut Ozil

Everyone knows about Mesut Ozil - and everyone knows how crucial he will be for Arsenal this season.

He is a player of the highest tier; and he is, according to the punters in the Tavern, the best player in Arsenal's squad.

If Arsenal do well - it often goes through the German maestro, and his form could dictate how well the Gunners do this season.

He scores, he assists - he does it all. He needs to play well this season if Arsenal want to challenge for the title.
