With one defeat in their last 13 games, Everton are well and truly on the march coming in to the business end of the season.

The Toffees currently sit in seventh place in the Premier League and some optimists in the Transfer Tavern are predicting that Ronald Koeman's masterminding a last minute assault on the top four, in an attempt to get Champions League football to Goodison Park.

Our landlord completely disagrees and feels that seventh place is as high as the Toffees will rise this season, but to say he has been impressed with the young talent from the blue half of Merseyside would be an understatement.

What he has not been impressed by is the carrying some of these youngsters have done in regards to their more experienced colleagues, who simply are not good enough to star in a Premier League side.

This has started mass debate among the Transfer Tavern faithful, and our landlord has been keeping an ear out for the most popular names mentioned with regards to downgrading from Everton into the lower leagues.

Here are the TWO Everton players who need to downgrade and drop down a league.....

Arouna Kone

The 34- year-old has fallen further and further down the striker pecking order at Everton, and our landlord believes it is time for Kone to spend the twilight of his career in the lower leagues.

Our resident Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern agree with our landlord, especially after the rising of young striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who scored his first goal for the club against Hull City, last weekend.

Aaron Lennon

The former Leeds and Spurs man has found himself way down the pecking order under boss, Ronald Koeman and our resident Everton fans believe that Lennon could do with moving down a league to rejuvenate his career.

Our landlord has noted that Lennon is still just 29 years of age and could be a major coup for a Championship side.
