West Ham United fans here in the Tavern are still yet to get over the disappointment of defeat against Liverpool, as the Hammers now face the possibility of relegation to the Championship. 

Indeed, David Moyes has already managed to produce some brilliant results as Slaven Bilic’s successor, but Premier League survival is still a huge worry for many of our local residents. Although, the Hammers now head into arguably the most crucial couple of weeks in their season, with games against fellow relegation scrappers Swansea City and Southampton possibly deciding their fate.

But, Moyes will have strong beliefs that his West Ham United side can escape the dreaded clutches of relegation, as summer transfer window business becomes the next challenge for the 54-year-old to encounter. And, it appears as if a central defender is required for the claret and blue, as the second worst defensive team in the top-flight. Indeed, according to reports, the Hammers want to sign Jonny Evans for £3 million at the end of the season.

The Northern-Irish international has been a revelation for the Midlands outfit so far this season, as their best hope of ensuring Premier League survival at the Hawthorns. And, bringing him to the London Stadium will be sure to bolster the Hammers’ defensive ranks, but they could face competition as the defender has attracted interest from the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal in the past.
