The Saints relieved Mauricio Pellegrino of his managerial duties after an unsuccessful campaign thus far, with Mark Hughes taking over from the Argentine as the so-called saviour. And, he enjoyed the best possible start to life in his new managerial position, as Southampton reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup after beating League One side Wigan Athletic 2-0 at the DW Stadium.
However, with a new manager at the helm, there’s the potential for players to have a say in their own future, as the Welshman will be watching training sessions very closely to see who impresses.
