Tottenham’s calamitous end to the season not only ended their chance of a first ever Premier League title, but it also left Mauricio Pochettino’s men below Arsenal in the table – a position the Spurs faithful here in the Transfer Tavern have become all too familiar with over the past two decades.
While the final three games certainly dampened the spirits at White Hart Lane, it was nevertheless a fantastic season in North London, arguably their best ever in Premier League history.
Many have tipped Spurs for the title next season with them having impressed so much this campaign, and with Argentine Pochettino having signed a new contract at the club midst fears he would leave for Manchester United – the future looks bright.
With it being a disappointing season for the usual top four suspects, Arsenal, Chelsea, United and City are all likely to recruit heavily this summer in order to amount a serious title challenge next season.
Add in an almost unstoppable Leicester City, a new look Liverpool and a quickly growing West Ham, and next campaign looks as if it could be the most hotly contested in recent years.
Tottenham will certainly need to bolster their options if they want to remain at the head of the table, but just who would have to make way for their incoming summer signings? Our landlord thinks these THREE are destined for elsewhere……
