Chelsea have had some great players over the years, though none in the modern era can quite match the impact that Didier Drogba had at Stamford Bridge. Sure, some stayed at Chelsea for a longer period, and some are perhaps more closely linked with the club, but no player gets close to producing the moments that the Ivorian did in a Chelsea shirt.
They, of course, don’t come much bigger than a Champions League final, and his last-gasp goal and winning penalty will never be forgotten by Chelsea fans, but that wasn’t all he achieved. He regularly scored in big games for the Blues, and Chelsea are celebrating his effectiveness over on Twitter today (Friday), given that it’s the anniversary of Drogba’s first ever Premier League goal for the Blues.

Scored back in 2004, Drogba lept high in typical fashion to put one past Crystal Palace, and the rest, as they say, was history. The Ivorian would go on to score 164 for the Blues.
Though he’s no longer playing for Chelsea, he’s still very popular with fans, as highlighted by the responses to said Tweet online. Chelsea fans have been quick to respond to Chelsea’s message online, and they’re full of praise for Drogba.
Take a look at what they’vee had to say below…
