Everton supporters saw their club move into the transfer market to sign a handful of promising young players in the summer as Richarlison, Yerry Mina and Kurt Zouma all arrived at Goodison Park, but recent reports suggest that they are interested in adding experience to their ranks.
Indeed, a report from the Daily Mail claims that Marco Silva wants to sign Samir Nasri on a free transfer when his drug ban expires next month.
Nasri has been no stranger to controversy throughout his career and, if anything, he seems to attract it wherever he goes.
Pep Guardiola’s arrival at Man City saw the French attacking midfielder become surplus to requirements in 2016 despite his positive pre-season performances, and he was offloaded to Sevilla where he struggled for form before he was infamously sent off against Leicester City in the last-sixteen of the Champions League.
Whilst Nasri has always been blessed with a special technical talent, attitude problems have served as a detriment to the success of his career at both club and international level.
Naturally, his past problems are a cause for concern for Everton fans, but there are plenty who are enticed by the playmaking quality he could inject into the club.
And with Nasri’s history at both Arsenal and Man City in mind, a handful of supporters have taken to Twitter to call for Everton to offer a contract to the free agent when his ban comes to an end.
Here’s what a selection of Everton fans have had to say about the prospect of signing Nasri…

Great addition to the squad would definitely sign him, could be a great sub.

A short term six month deal would suit both parties, with the option of another year, could be shrewd business
