Trent Alexander-Arnold has enjoyed quite the meteoric rise during the past twelve months from a youth player on the fringes of Liverpool’s senior squad to an England international.
Liverpool’s academy is globally renowned for the high calibre of talent they produce on a consistent basis and Alexander-Arnold is part of a new generation of talent who are beginning to make a name for themselves. Joe Gomez’s performances this season have earned him glowing reviews throughout the media, but Alexander-Arnold also deserves plenty of praise for the way in which he has continued his excellent form from last season.
Gareth Southgate recognised his fine start to the season and rewarded him with an international call up for the upcoming England fixtures against Spain and Switzerland, and it seems he’s been making quite the impression in training.
Indeed, Liverpool’s official Twitter account posted a video on Friday morning of Alexander-Arnold playing crossbar challenge and planting the ball directly onto the bar from just in front of the halfway line with Jesse Lingard watching on.

In response to the video the Liverpool fans were quick to heap praise on the youngster, with supporters going as far as to compare him with Steven Gerrard and suggest he has the potential to become the club’s captain in the years to come.
