Tottenham Hotspur supporters have bemoaned their lack of strength in depth in recent weeks after they failed to sign a single new player during the summer transfer window, but those complaints cannot relate to their options at right-back.

Indeed, Kieran Trippier has established himself as Mauricio Pochettino’s first-choice right-back since Kyle Walker left for Man City, with Serge Aurier offering decent backup without genuinely threatening the England international.

Beyond Aurier, Pochettino has Kyle Walker-Peters waiting in the wings in case a double injury blow suddenly strikes his first choice full-backs, but it’s unlikely that the 21-year-old will be content with his complete lack of opportunity so far this season.

Walker-Peters has yet to play a single minute of competitive football for the club this season but he still managed to earn a call-up to the England U21 squad for qualifying fixtures against Andorra and Scotland.

And Aidy Boothroyd handed Tottenham’s academy product a full 90 minutes of action last night as England recorded an emphatic 7-0 victory over Andorra.

In the aftermath of proceedings Walker-Peters took to Twitter to express his delight at enjoying some competitive action with the national side.

In response to the tweet, the Spurs supporters congratulated him for his performance and a handful of fans suggested that he should be given a chance in Tottenham’s first team in the near future.

Here’s what a selection of Spurs fans have had to say to Walker-Peters on Twitter…
