These Tottenham fans were in awe of Danny Rose against Barcelona

Tottenham Hotspur travelled to the Nou Camp last night for a season-defining fixture and they struck late to seal their place in the last-sixteen.

Mauricio Pochettino’s task was clear and simple before his side kicked off against the Catalonian giants: equal Inter Milan’s result and go through to the knockout phase.

With PSV Eindhoven travelling to the San Siro it seemed plausible to suggest that nothing less than a win would do for Spurs, but that pre-match feeling turned out to be a false premonition as the Nerazzurri could only muster up a 1-1 draw.

Tottenham, courtesy of Lucas Moura, managed to mirror that result in the dying embers of proceedings, sparking wild scenes in the gods of the Nou Camp where the travelling contingent of Spurs fans were tucked away.

The left-back has endured something of a miserable eighteen months at the club, with a collection of injuries and a subsequent struggle for form blighting his career in north London.

But the Rose of old, who endeared himself to the supporters before his downward spiral began, was back on display last night – marauding forward at every opportunity and marshalling his patch with exemplary discipline.

It was a performance worth shouting about and that’s exactly what the fans did on Twitter.

Here’s what some Spurs fans had to say about Rose’s performance against Barcelona…
