It was a bad weekend for West Ham, and not just because of the result that they suffered at the hands of Tottenham. After a brief turnaround before the international break, the Hammers were back on the losing side over the weekend – with Spurs beating them 1-0.
However, the loss wasn’t the only negative for Manuel Pellegrini.
Indeed, attacker Andriy Yarmelenko was also stretchered off during the game, and now his injury looks to be even worse than feared. According to the Mirror, he could be out for 6 months, it is said, after damaging his Achilles.
Naturally, this is awful news for the Hammers. The attacker was just beginning to find his feet in London, and he had put in a few good performances after a slow start.
Now, though, it seems as though the club are going to have to put up without him for quite a few months, and it seems unlikely that he’ll be back to his best before the season ends.
Unsurprisingly, this has led to a few angry faces online, with many West Ham fans taking to Twitter to reveal their frustration. Take a look at what they’ve had to say below…

Our injury luck is unbelievable. One of our best summer signings and this happens. Hopefully others will now step up to the plate. Lanzini back, a bit of January business..??
