Leicester City will be desperate to secure victory in their next outing against Wolverhampton Wanderers after losing to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Foxes put in a solid performance against the Red Devils but they just couldn’t secure the vital goal that would have helped bring a point back to the King Power Stadium. And, it looks as if the negative start to the campaign may have an effect on the managerial position, as according to the Mirror, Thierry Henry and Roberto Martinez could compete for the Leicester City job if Claude Puel is axed.
Claude Puel is already on the brink at the King Power Stadium, with Roberto Martinez and Thierry Henry in the frame to replace him.
The Foxes boss is understood to have just two games to save his job with City chiefs ready to wield the axe ahead during the international break if results continue to go against them.
Roberto Martinez was at Friday’s game at Old Trafford and he will be considered for the job if Puel fails to turn things around and his assistant, Henry, has made no secret of the fact he wants to become a manager and Leicester appeals to him as well.
So, it looks as if Leicester City won’t hesitate to make a big change by getting rid of the manager if the Foxes don’t improve in games to come after losing to Manchester United on Friday.
But, supporters may not mind this as Roberto Martinez has proven himself in the Premier League during his time as Everton boss, and Thierry Henry has experience from his time at Belgium as Martinez’s assistant.
Although, the Foxes’ faithful would much rather see positive results, as a poor start to the campaign could see them in immediate relegation trouble.
