The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the news that their final home game of the season against Chelsea sold out just 24 hours after the tickets went on sale. St James Park has a capacity of just over 52,000 seats, making the feat even more impressive as the Magpies flock to celebrate a successful season on the last day of the Premier League.

The Geordies keeping our bar afloat will be looking back to the last game of the Premier League season in 2015/16, the last time they were in the competition when they went out on a high demolishing Tottenham 5-1 on the final day. This time around, the club will be going into their final game knowing they have more Premier League football right around the corner after a superb season has seen them reach 10th in the league on one of the smallest budgets of the 20 competing teams.
The club’s season has gone from strength to strength since the turn of the year. At one point it looked like Rafa Benitez was in serious danger of getting sucked into a relegation battle, however, the club have won their last four Premier League games and are now looking to challenge Leicester and Everton for an 8th placed finish. The Magpies still have five games left, including a trip to Wembley against Spurs, as they start the celebrations and prepare for another successful season under Benitez.
