Spurs failed to make any signings in the summer as they took the risk of sticking with a squad which has, over the last two years, done itself proud in the main.

Mauricio Pochettino's men have made an inconsistent start to the season, and that decision to not sign any players now looks to be backfiring somewhat, as the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli continue to look tired following on from their gruelling World Cup campaigns.

The January transfer window is bound to be a big one for Spurs, who will be hoping to be in their new stadium come then, and will also no doubt be keen to add some new talent to the ranks.

One player we at the Tavern have identified as being a potentially excellent signing is young Norwegian midfielder Sander Berge.

The £10.8m-rated youngster has lit up the Belgian league with Genk, and at just 20, already has 11 caps to his name for Norway.

Berge looks to be a class act, and is certainly a player who is already demonstrating abilities which will see him make a step up to a higher level than the Belgian league long term.

Spurs are in need of new talent, and signing a 20-year-old who will no doubt relish the chance of playing in the Premier League.

Plenty of talent, the right age, and not too pricey, Berge would be a superb long term signing for Pochettino and his squad.
