Spurs look like finishing the season as runners-up once more in the Premier League, as Chelsea have seemingly wrapped up the league title with just a few games to spare.
It’s not all bad news though for the White Hart Lane club, and under Mauricio Pochettino, they have picked up more points than any other Premier League team over the last two seasons.
The Spurs fans here in the Tavern are in a positive mood still despite the lack of title, and they think that this summer could represent a real chance for them to go and add the final pieces of the jigsaw to their already talented squad.
One player our landlord has been speaking about this week is Villarreal speedster Cedric Bakambu, who has impressed in La Liga this season once more.
Valued at £13.6m on website Transfermarkt, he could offer exactly the sort of thing Spurs have been lacking in previous seasons, and give Harry Kane some genuine competition, as well as being able to partner the England man.
Bakambu’s pace and agility make him an excellent forward player, and his ability to play both wide positions is also something which adds further shine to his appeal.
If Pochettino could pick Bakambu up for the suggested price in this article, it could well be a steal for the club, and at 26-years-old, the DR Congo forward surely still has his best years in front of him.
Spurs fans, what do you think? Would you take Bakambu? Let us know your thoughts!
