The Tottenham faithful in the Transfer Tavern are expecting a big win against Leicester on Tuesday evening. The Lilywhites were unable to break past West Brom over the weekend, forcing them out of top four in the Premier League, and so a win is a very important result this time around.
Pochettino’s men looked uncharacteristically poor against the Baggies, and that will certainly give the boss some things to think about ahead of his next game. More specifically, the manager will no doubt be tempted to change a few things up, and one player that our landlord thinks should feature is Mousa Dembele.
Dembele, who is rated at £16.2 million by Transfer Markt, has largely lost his spot in the first team this season in favour of Harry Winks, with the Englishman impressing in his new found role in the midfield. That said, he struggled to leave his mark on the game over the weekend, and so Dembele is certainly in with a chance of featuring in his place.
What the Belgian has over his midfield rival is experience. He knows exactly what it takes to win games, whilst the resolute nature of his gameplay will help Tottenham as they no doubt come under pressure against the reinvigorated Foxes. He has proven in recent years that on his day, there is nobody better to help control the game in the middle of the park.
He offers fantastic passing, dribbling and technical ability, and that skill set will compliment the likes of Dele Alli and Harry Kane perfectly. The Belgian hasn’t lost a step over the last few months, and whilst his fitness has been an issue, he remains every bit as good as he was last year, which was a season in which he came into his own. He was undroppable last term, and he can be just as good this season if given a chance.
Tottenham have lots of games coming up, and so it makes sense for Pochettino to rotate, and the introduction of Dembele would be a wise choice. Agreed? Vote below and let us know!
