Everton will be hoping to continue their solid summer in the transfer market and will be hopeful of an excellent season next year under their enigmatic Dutch manager Ronald Koeman.
Despite some big spending and some impressive buys so far, one big hole is left to be filled, and that is that of Romelu Lukaku, who has just completed his big money move to Manchester United.
Lukaku was a guarantee of 20 goals minimum a season for the Toffees, and our landlord here at the Tavern has been speaking to the Everton fans this week, and they know they’ve a big job on their hands to replace the big Belgian.
However, one man our landlord thinks can come in and be a threat is current Schalke striker Breel Embolo, who looks like quite the talent over in the Bundesliga.
Despite being only 21 and making only a handful of appearances so far in his career, Embolo looks to have all the attributes which will turn him into a top striker, whichever league he chooses to ply his trade in.
Everton have the money now to afford to take a risk in the market if they need, but Embolo would not be too high a risk, given his obvious talent and potential to grow into a top player.
Embolo is someone who could well turn into one of the biggest striking stars in world football given the correct opportunities, and the chance to play under Koeman and hone his craft could be an opportunity he does not want to pass up on.
