This 28-goal forward would be the perfect Ibrahimovic replacement at Man Utd – agreed?

The Man United fans here at the Transfer Tavern are in a confident mood ahead of the summer transfer window, resting in the knowledge that their club will once again spend big in the coming months to bring in some of the world’s biggest stars.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan were just two of the names to sign on the dotted line last season, but with a crippling knee injury ruling the former out for the start of next season, United need a new man to lead the line.

Chatting with his punters over by the jukebox, our landlord has been discussing some potential targets with United fans in the Tavern, with the usual names of Romelu Lukaku, Alvaro Morata and Andrea Belotti cropping up on a regular basis.

Another player our landlord dropped into the conversation was Alexandre Lacazette, who has been prolific with Lyon since his move to the club in 2009.

The 26-year-old striker has an impressive strike rate of nearly a goal every other game since joining the French side, and in recent seasons has really improved this record.

Coming off the back of a season in which the Frenchman smashed 37 goals in all competitions – 28 of which came in Ligue 1 – United should swoop for the prolific marksman, who would fit seamlessly into the front line at Old Trafford.

A cheaper yet arguably better option than some of United’s other transfer targets, a move for Lacazette should be a no brainer for Jose Mourinho.
