This £31.5m-rated powerhouse could transform Chelsea’s midfield if signed in January – agreed?

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for the Blues to rival Liverpool by signing a big-name player in January. The Reds recently confirmed the signing of Virgil van Dijk, which is concerning for Chelsea. The two sides are likely to be in the mix to finish in the top four this season, and so Liverpool’s huge upgrade could pile the pressure on teams like the Blues.

It would be wise, then, for Antonio Conte to demand a big signing or two too, as he cannot afford for his rivals to improve without his team doing the same, and one player that our landlord thinks would be perfect is Arturo Vidal.

Vidal, currently playing for Bayern Munich, has built a fearsome reputation as one of the best midfielders currently playing in Europe. A midfield powerhouse, the raw power and determination that he provides through the heart of the Bayern Munich team has seen the German outfit enjoy a very successful spell in recent years.

Significantly, Vidal and Antonio Conte are already well aware of each other, with the pair having worked together when Antonio Conte was in charge of Juventus. Together, they achieved significant success, and Vidal grew into the player that he is today. In any prospective deal, and with regards to his adjustment were he to move to England, you would expect him to make an immediate impact as a result.

Rated at £31.5 million by Transfer Markt, Vidal wouldn’t be a cheap signing, but with his qualities, he could transform a midfield. Particularly alongside the relentless N’Golo Kante, Vidal would be a stellar option.
