Manchester United

This £51m-rated strike ace would score 30 goals for Man United next season

Manchester United will be hoping to build on a fairly positive season under Jose Mourinho this summer by venturing into the transfer market and adding some serious quality to their ranks.

Most of the Red Devils fans here in the Tavern appreciate that despite having a good squad, a few players of real top quality are needed if United are to become real title contender and compete in the Champions League – should they win the Europa League.

Our landlord has been having a good old chinwag with some of the United fans this week over at the end of the bar, and one player he’s mentioned to them is current Real Madrid and French star Karim Benzema.

Benzema has been a lynch pin of the Madrid side for some time now, and it could well be time for him to move on, with Cristiano Ronaldo becoming more and more like a number nine week in week out. Valued at £51m by Transfermarkt, plenty in football still think Benzema has plenty to offer at the top level.

Should Benzema be allowed to leave Madrid, then Man United would certainly be a likely destination, with Jose Mourinho having worked with the impressive France striker during his time in Madrid.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic looking likely to be out injured for some considerable time, a replacement signing of the calibre of Benzema brings with it some relief and hope for United fans, who will be hoping the club splash big on a new striker this summer.

Man U fans, what do you think? Would you take Benzema? Let us know!
