Manchester City will no doubt struggle to improve on this season in terms of their squad next year, and manager Pep Guardiola will have his work cut out to find player who can come in and make a difference at the Etihad.
The football put on display by City this season has been nothing short of stunning, and the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Sergio Aguero, and Raheem Sterling have really come into their own under the stewardship of the Spaniard.
Here in the Tavern, our landlord has been thinking long and hard about who the club could look to sign, but he thinks they might not have to look to far away from home, with plenty of talent in the Premier League available if the money is put up.
One player he thinks fits the bill is Spurs midfielder Dele Alli, who has had a good season once again for Spurs but not quite hit the heights of his previous campaigns.
Valued at a massive £72m by Transfermarkt, the England man is well known for his goals and ability to arrive late into the box and cause trouble, while he also has a bit of bite about him, something which seems to set him apart from plenty of other young players.
Alli is amazingly still only 22, and will surely only go on to get better if he did move to the Etihad. His former teammate Kyle Walker is a shining example of how players can improve under the management of Guardiola, and Alli might well be keen to follow in his old pal’s footsteps.
City fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
