This Arsenal outcast would be great for Swansea

The Arsenal fans who have just arrived in the Transfer Tavern think Carl Jenkinson’s days are numbered at The Emirates.

The Englishman who spent two seasons out on-loan to West Ham returned last summer, but he was unable to make an impact in Arsene Wenger’s team.

Opportunities for the right-back were limited, but Jenkinson did receive a chance midway through the season after Hector Bellerin suffered an ankle injury.

However, the 25-year-old struggled and Wenger cited the poor form to a lacking in confidence.

The Frenchman hooked Jenkinson from the squad all together and it appears his Arsenal career is at a dead end.

Swansea boss Paul Clement surely recognises that Jenkinson remains a good player – and with Arsenal keen to trim their squad, it’s an opportunity for the Swans to capitalise on the Gunners’ need to sell.

Clement does already have Kyle Naughton and long-standing Spaniard Angel Rangel at his disposal, though neither of which have made the position their own.

The Swans, who conceded the second highest goals in the Premier League last season could be a perfect match for Jenkinson who now needs to rebuild his career.

Swansea fans, we want to hear from you! Would you be happy with Jenkinson? Let us know in the comments!
