This Arsenal player needs to accept lower wages if he wants a move

The Arsenal fans are in the Transfer Tavern and they are discussing Jack Wilshere’s future over a few pints.

Ever since his loan spell at Bournemouth expired, rumours have been circulating about Jack Wilshere’s future and whether it lays at The Emirates.

Serie A side Sampdoria have emerged as one of the favourites for the 25-year-old’s signature but there is a slight issue.

Few clubs will be able to afford his wages.

Wilshere is currently on a £90,000-a -eek contract at Arsenal and given that his future seems to be outside of Europe’s elite, he will need to probably cut that in half to have a chance of finding a new club.

Since he joined the Arsenal first team in 2008 from the academy, Wilshere has made 160 appearances for the Gunners.

That works out at an average of around 17 appearances per season he has been at the club.

Taking into account the two loan spells he has had in his time at the club and that still only works out at 21 appearances per season.

He hasn’t really done enough to prove he is worth £90,000 a week.

Yes, he has had more than his fair share of injuries but if anything, that is just more of a reason to not sign him.

Nothing has been said so far about whether the player would be willing to take a pay-cut to get first team football, but our landlord somehow doubts that would happen.
