West Ham United will go into next season expecting a much better performance than last year, and will be hoping to secure a top half finish at the very least in their second season at the London Stadium.
Hammers manager Slaven Bilic will be hoping to add some star names to his squad over this summer, and the Croatian will no doubt have a good idea in his head of who he wants to bring in.
Our landlord here in the Tavern has been speaking to Hammers fans this week about the transfer window, and there is a slight concern among them that they are in danger of being left behind in terms of summer deals.
However, there is still plenty of time, and one player our landlord thinks could be an excellent signing is Wolfsburg midfielder Max Arnold.
The 23-year-old has been a mainstay of the German under-21 squad for quite some time now, but having now reached a point where he cannot represent his country at that level any more, he could well look for a new chapter in his career.
A classy midfielder, Arnold is quite the presence in the centre of the field, and has a real quality about him when he is on form. A move to the Premier League might well appeal to Arnold, who has made well in excess of 100 appearances for his current club.
He looks to have all the attributes to fit in in the Premier League, and he is certainly someone who could add something to the Hammers which they are currently lacking in the midfield.
