The Villa fans in the Transfer Tavern have been getting behind their club after manager Steve Bruce came out and said that there’s a still a few twists and turns to come in the last eight games, despite back-to-back losses against QPR and Bolton. The club handed the initiative to Cardiff and Fulham in the race for the Championship’s automatic promotion places as they dropped six vital points in the space of just a week.
The Villains propping our bar up, whilst obviously disappointed with the last two results, are holding out faith that they can make a return to the Premier League without braving the playoffs. The club sit seven points off of 2nd place Cardiff, who also have a game in hand and could stretch the gap to ten points. Despite the chances of Villa’s automatic promotion seeming very slim, it hasn’t stopped the fans getting behind the team for the last eight games.
“We may have handed the initiative to the others, but in my experience, there’s still a few twists and turns to come.”

Steve Bruce’s side have shown what they can achieve in the division, beating league leaders Wolves 4-1 at Villa Park before suffering their first back-to-back defeats since August. The Villa Park faithful have now got to hope that other results go their way as they look to get back to winning ways in the league. Even if the club fail to end the season in an automatic promotion spot, they may still find themselves restoring their Premier League status through the playoffs.
