Spurs are looking to cement a top four place once again the Premier League and despite their title challenge being all but over, there’s every chance they can achieve their main goal for the season.
In Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen, along with Dele Alli, Spurs have some of the most exciting attacking players in the Premier League, and with the help of the few solid additions over the coming transfer windows, many believe they could be genuine contenders in years to come.
Our landlord here in the Tavern has been casting a watchful eye over the talent in Europe this season, and he believes that former Newcastle United man Florian Thauvin might well deserve a second chance in the top flight to prove himself.
The 24-year-old has already notched eight times this season for Marseille, while adding an impressive seven assists as he’s become the key figure in the starting XI for the French giants.
Thauvin had a failed spell previously at St James’ Park, but looks to have really hit form now and grown into a different player altogether. The chance for him to move back to England and prove himself could be a big incentive for Thauvin, and Spurs could provide the ideal setting for him to flourish.
There’s definitely a top player there in Thauvin, and if he carries on as he is, the likes of Spurs and the other top dogs in England will be sniffing around come January and into the summer.
