The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for their side to bounce back against Borussia Dortmund this week. They were expecting a dominant win over their North London rivals Arsenal on Saturday, but the very opposite ended up happening. They were outclassed and outgunned by the Gunners, leaving Mauricio Pochettino’s men licking their wounds.
There isn’t much time for the Lilywhites to recover, though, with another big game taking place on Tuesday. They’re set to take on Borrusia Dortmund in the Champions League – a competition in which they’ve looked very good so far. With the added pressure of a loss at the weekend, though, it’s important that they secure a good result.
Pochettino, then, has his work cut out as he looks to turn his losing side into a winning one, and that could mean making a few changes. One player that could get a chance is Serge Aurier, who had to settle for a seat on the bench over the weekend. Aurier is pretty experienced in Europe, and he’s proven his worth as a very talented attacking defender during his time in London.
He wasn’t a great fit for the North London derby, given his lack of experience in that fixture, but he could be perfect for this game. Our landlord thinks that he would command the right-hand side going forward, whilst also helping to quell the threatening attack of the German giants.
