It’s been a long few days for the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern. Whilst the teams around them appear to be very active, the Blues are remaining comparatively quiet.
Whilst the summer transfer window is open, Chelsea are yet to make a splash of any kind, and that’s problematic, especially when you consider their needs. They had a very poor season last term, and so some big changes are needed this summer if they are to improve their situation.
Despite their lack of activity, it does appear that some things are going on behind the scenes, at least.
The Evening Standard have reported this week that Juventus have asked Chelsea if they would be interested in signing Gonzalo Higuain in exchange for Alvaro Morata, with the Italian giants apparently interested in the Chelsea forward.
Morata, significantly, has had a poor campaign in London, and so as noted by the Evening Standard, there is at least a chance that he will depart the club this summer.
However, a swap deal with Higuain isn’t a deal that has gone down very well with the Chelsea fans over on Reddit. Chelsea fans have taken to the platform to discuss it, and they’re eager to ensure that their side doesn’t go for it.
At 30-years-old, Higuain certainly wouldn’t be a particularly worthy investment with an eye to the future, that’s for sure.
