It has not been the best of summers for Manchester United fans when it comes to their goalkeeping situation, and now the Mirror claim that David De Gea could well see out the final year of his contract with the club – in order to net a huge amount of cash.
According to the publication, the player could well be offered a whopping £12 million by Real Madrid if he saves them a transfer fee and agrees to remain at United for a final 12 months, and we think that is a no brainer for De Gea.
It could however mean 12 months without football for the stopper, with United boss Louis van Gaal unwilling to play someone he feels wants to leave and is not focused – although come the end of the summer transfer window, that could well change and his focus once again be restored.
One thing is for sure, we think that United will lose De Gea, it is just a matter of when, and they may as well try and sell him in order to recoup at least some of their cash.
