Leeds United have got off to a flying start to their 2017/18 season, winning on the opening day of the season at Bolton and smashing in four goals in their midweek League Cup tie.
At the time of writing, Leeds were preparing for another crucial Championship fixture, this time entertaining Preston North End at Elland Road.
New manager Thomas Christiansen has brought in a host of new signings this summer, leading to the Leeds fans here in the Tavern getting pretty excited about just how this season could go for the Yorkshire club.
Our landlord here in the Tavern though thinks the club can add even more quality, and looking to the Premier League and more specifically Liverpool, could be the key to signing that quality.
Who is he talking about? Winger Ryan Kent.
The young trickster impressed in pre-season for the Reds with his wing play. His ability to beat defenders and get to the byline is something rarely seen these days in football, and he really does have the look of an ‘old fashioned’ winger.
Kent has impressed in spells with both Coventry City and Barnsley over the last few years, and there is no reason to suggest the step up to a club like Leeds could cause an issue.
With Kent out wide and Chris Wood tucking away whatever Kent creates, Leeds could well find themselves very easily in the mix to win automatic promotion come the end of April next year.
