This man could decide the result when Arsenal take on Chelsea this weekend

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are concerned about their side’s upcoming clash with Chelsea…

The two sides have enjoyed contrasting levels of success so far this term, with Chelsea flying high whilst Arsenal continue to struggle in the league.

The Premier League, though, is an unpredictable beast, and things can change at the drop of a hat. A big win against Chelsea could set the Gunners up nicely, whilst a loss could see their season spiral out of control.

In truth, Arsenal’s success is going to depend on individual performances, and if one man, in particular, plays well, then they’ll be in a good position to secure a vital victory. That man, of course, is Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean attacker has proven himself as one of the best attackers in world football whilst at Arsenal, becoming the focal point of a deadly front line. Though he plays out wide, he was often the player to turn to in search of goals – having amassed 24 in the league last season.

It’s no real surprise that Arsenal have struggled this season – mainly because Sanchez hasn’t really been available. He returned to Arsenal late, and has spent the last few weeks building up his fitness. As a result, the Gunners haven’t been at full speed.

Against FC Köln, though, he showed glimpses of what he can do, and it’s clear that he is finally getting back to speed. Back amongst the action and back amongst the goals, is the Chilean reaching his peak once more?

It’ll be a big test for Arsenal and, indeed, Sanchez on Sunday – but if the Chilean is back to his best, then not even Cesar Azpilicueta will be able to control the Chilean. If he struggles, though, it could be more of the same for Arsenal.

No player can influence this game more than he can.
