The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have been getting more and more excited as it seems like they will be the lucky club to sign Alejandro Grimaldo from Benfica. The young Spanish left-back could be on his way to North London, according to Gonfialarete, as the N17 club prepare a bid of around £25 million for him.

The Tottenham fans in the Tavern can start to get excited about this one. Grimaldo is a top defedner and will easily compete with both Ben Davies and Danny Rose, if they are kept at the club that is, next sext season. His overlapping runs and ability get forward from defence coupled with his defensive prowess make him one of the best young full-backs in Europe today.
The left-back is valued at £18-million by the good people over at Transfermarkt and if he did joing Spurs for a fee of around £25 million then it’s fair to say that Daniel Levy would ahve secured a bargain for the club. It’s likely that Danny Rose is being sold this summer and Grimaldo is a more than competant replacement. Spurs fans may not know his name now, but before long they will.

Whilst some Spurs fans have their reservations, there’s no doubting this move could be a brilliant one for Tottenham.
