This man would get Everton into the top-six and Koeman needs to make it happen

Our resident Everton fans seem to think their club is on course to breach the top six this season.

The Toffees are being backed in the transfer market by new majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri, and the club have made some shrewd bits of business this summer.

Ronald Koeman’s side have loosened their pursestrings by splashing out on six players so far this season.

Reports claim that Swansea City attacking-midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson is next on their list with the big spenders ready to go all out to land their man.

Sigurdsson could be in line to replace wantaway Ross Barkley, who has been omitted from the Toffees’ pre-season tour.

Many Everton fans are still waiting for the Englishman, who has just one year to run on his current contract to take the Premier League by storm, but the academy graduate appears to want to achieve that elsewhere.

Koeman’s side had a £40m bid rejected for Sigurdsson with the Swans suggested to be holding out for £50m.

The midfielder was hugely instrumental in keeping Swansea in the Premier League last season, scoring nine and assisting 13 for his teammates.

Despite failing to cement a starting place after his last big move to Tottenham, the Iceland international has not only improved, but matured by becoming a leader in his second spell at Swansea.

Sigurdsson, 27, could use his excellent eye for a pass in the attacking third to provide goals for both Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez, who was fruitful for Malaga last season.

The midfielder also possesses a wicked delivery from set-pieces – a dream for Everton centre-halves Ashley Williams and new signing Michael Keane.
