This new role for influential striker would be huge for Manchester United

The Manchester United fans are in the Transfer Tavern tonight and following rumours that their favourite Swede could be coming back, the drinks are coming in.

Reports last week from the Daily Star have indicated that Manchester United have held talks with former striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, over becoming a coach at the club.

When it was rumoured about a month ago that the Swede could be re-joining the club, our landlord didn’t see much point in it.

They had just signed Romelu Lukaku and have players like Marcus Rashford just waiting for their chance as the new main striker.

But now, with a player/coaching role being offer the landlord thinks United need to do all they can to make this happen.

Simply put, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one of the greatest strikers to ever play the game and having him at United to coach younger, less developed strikers up to the first team would be huge for them.

Not to mention having him back as a player would be quite handy.

The landlord would be shocked to see him anywhere near the first team apart from early round domestic cup clashes, he is nearly 36 remember.

With his knee injury not likely to go away fully due to his age as well it wouldn’t make sense for him to be near the first team.

But having him in the dressing room as a big voice for the team and having the striker act as a bridge between players and management would be a huge benefit to United.

The report claims that Zlatan is eager to get back into the squad and has no intention of retiring soon, but even he must call it a day sometime.

Make it happen United.
