It’s going to be a massive summer for Tottenham Hotspur, who after finishing second once more and moving away from White Hart Lane for next year, are expected to be subject to a barrage of bids for their star men.
The likes of Dele Alli, Harry Kane, Kyle Walker, and Christian Eriksen are all bound to be subject of interest from Europe’s elite, and Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino will be praying he can keep hold of the crux of his team.
This week here in the Tavern, the Spurs fans have been in a realistic mood during chats with our landlord, taking their time over a few beers to speak about just what the summer transfer window could hold for the club.
One player who has been brought up in conversation is Real Madrid man Fabio Coentrao, who has dropped severely out of favour at Madrid behind Marcelo and Nacho.
However, at 29, Coentrao still has plenty to offer, and would represent a fairly cheap option for Spurs to pursue should Danny Rose end up moving on which is being suggested in numerous public news outlets.
Coentrao is an experienced international who provides bags of energy up and down the left hand side, and his style would surely suit the Premier League and the way Spurs play.
Although ‘Poch’ will no doubt want to keep his first choice man Rose, Coentrao represents a decent option for the club to look at should they wish to sign a new left back.
Spurs fans, what do we think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
