This reported transfer saga shows just how far Liverpool have fallen

The Liverpool fans are very quiet in the Transfer Tavern as it seems like they won’t be able to hold onto Coutinho for much longer.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

Despite their best efforts, reports have surfaced in the last few days suggesting Philippe Coutinho wants to swap Anfield for the Nou Camp.

It is understandable why the player would want to make the switch given that Barcelona are one of the biggest clubs in the world, but that is a title Liverpool used to hold.

It wouldn’t reflect as badly on Liverpool’s part if the Brazilian wanted to leave if they were stuck as a mid-table side.

But Liverpool are making leaps and bounds towards pushing for the Premier League title and he still wants to go.

It is no secret that Liverpool aren’t the club they used to be but they arguably hold the biggest stature they’ve had since their glory days of the 70’s and 80’s.

Even their Champions League win, whilst legendary felt like a one off at the time.

With a world class manager at the helm, Liverpool are finally starting to climb back up the ladder again and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them lift the Premier League trophy soon.

Coutinho’s desire to leave the club for Barca, even reportedly saying he will take a pay cut to join must be a humbling experience for the Reds.

What do you think Liverpool fans? Is Coutinho right to want to leave? Let us know down below.
