This unsettled £25.2m-rated defender could help solve Liverpool’s defensive woes – agreed?

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have identified their side’s defence as the weak-point in Jurgen Klopp’s squad. Whilst top players like Sadio Mane and Mo Salah are available going forward, the German has comparatively few options in defence, and this is a problem.

Fortunately, the January transfer window is approaching, and that period offers the perfect opportunity for the Reds to invest. With signings needed across the back-line, it’s hard to know where Klopp should start, but one player that could be perfect for the club is Danny Rose.

Undoubtedly one of the Premier League’s best left-backs, Rose is a rampaging, quick and talented left-back that has manned that side of the Tottenham defence for the last few years. In that time, he’s proven his worth as a top European talent, establishing himself as Tottenham and England’s first choice in the role.

Alberto Moreno, who has been the man tasked with playing the role at Liverpool this season, has really struggled. He has been mistake-prone, inconsistent, and to top it all off, he has offered very little going forward too. He’s arguably the weakest point in an already weak defence, and so something has to give. It seems clear that Rose would be a direct upgrade on the Spaniard, and so a move certainly makes sense.

Rated at £25.2 million by Transfer Markt, Rose wouldn’t be cheap, and owing to his uncertain future, Man Utd are also said to be keen, but the Reds should do all they can to land him.

When you throw in his experience and homegrown status, a move for Rose becomes a no-brainer.
