Interesting reports have arrived in the Football Transfer Tavern this evening as regular in the bar Nick Lustig pops in to tell punters the latest transfer news involving Manchester United.
The Daily Star journalist suggests that Red Devils manager David Moyes is still leading the pursuit for Brazilian starlet Bruno Gomes, despite reported interest from Real Madrid among others.
Gomes spent time on trial at Old Trafford last summer and was widely expected to become a United player once he turned 18 as former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson tried to secure the highly promising midfielder.
Now according to Brazilian reports, United remain his first choice but interest is building from other suitors and the Red Devils may have to take advantage of their first refusal to land the youngster as long as they bid a certain amount.
Former United manager Ferguson has reportedly told his successor David Moyes to do everything possible to sign the 17-year-old admit reports of interest from Real, Udinese and Brazilian outfit Sao Paulo.
United supporters in the tavern had to thank another youngster on Saturday as Adnan Januzaj struck twice in their 2-1 victory away at Sunderland and now they are hopeful that Gomes can join the ranks at Old Trafford in the near future.
Is Gomes the sort of player United should be looking at? Let us know your thoughts below.
