They’re currently discussing what on earth Eden Hazard could be worth if Luiz can warrant such an outrageous fee.
According to The Telegraph, Chelsea bosses are already planning to spend the £50 million and have created a shortlist of three.
The Premier League club either hope to sign former Manchester United Paul Pogba, Atletico Madrid’s Koke or Tottenham’s Brazilian midfielder Paulinho.
Chelsea’s interest in Pogba comes after a sterling season for Juventus in Italy.
The midfielder left Manchester United on dodgy terms just two seasons ago after letting his contract run out and Sir Alex Ferguson described him as disrespectful.
Nonetheless, Chelsea’s potential signing of Pogba would come as a major blow to the Red Devils after the French international became one of the most talented and sought-after midfielder in Europe.
But if a deal for the youngster can’t be done Chelsea are likely to offer Tottenham midfielder regular Paulinho first team action and Champions League football.
A premium is likely to be installed on Paulinho’s head due to the rivalry and the fact that Daniel Levy is a master salesman.
The hunt for Koke though is unlikely to be welcomed from Atletico Madrid after Chelsea already raided their ranks for Diego Costa.
They have also enquired about Filipe Luis and are set to recall Thibaut Courtois from his loan deal. Atletico will be needing a long rest after this Chelsea attack!
