Manchester United fans finally have something to smile about here in the Football Transfer Tavern and it is down to the Daily Mail.
Well, as our landlord points out, it is actually down to the fact that their new manager, Louis van Gaal is set to splash the cash at the club and bring in £200 million pounds worth of summer signings.
One of our punters is correct when they claim that given what David Moyes did with £28 million, we would not trust him with ten times that but new manager van Gaal has a proven track record and his list of targets is simply mouthwatering.
The Dutchman wants to bring in not only Bayern Munich duo Toni Kroos and Arjen Robben but also Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas as well.
That seems to make sense to us, especially given two of those players would be able to help fix the massive issue in the middle of the park, which has been exposed even more in recent months as being simply awful.
United are of course also in the market for at least two defenders and we think that van Gaal will be bringing in not only Southampton’s Luke Shaw but also a rock at the back rather than relying on the likes of Phil Jones and Chris Smalling.
Out of Kroos, Robben and Fabregas, who represents the most likely arrival, if any of them at all? Let us know your thoughts below.
