The inevitable has finally happened at White Hart Lane. Tim Sherwood has been sacked by Tottenham today.
Despite having the best win percentage of any manager in Tottenham’s Premier League history, and his insistence the club would have made the Champions League had he been in charge the whole season, ruthless Lilywhites chairman Daniel Levy has made the decision everyone expected.
“We agreed an 18-month contract with a break clause at the end of the season and we have now exercised that option,” said Daniel Levy bluntly.
Sherwood had taken over from Andre Villas-Boas in December, and guided the club to sixth-placed finish with a win percentage of 59 per cent from his 22 games in charge.
But controversy and eccentric moments off the pitch are perhaps what influenced Levy’s decision, with Sherwood coming into the public eye on a few occasions for his outspoken comments, passion on the touchline, and bust-ups with just about everyone.
Without doubt a ‘Marmite’ type of character, you cannot deny Sherwood was a top character, and will be missed in the Premier League.
In honour to the former Spurs midfielder, we have compiled a countdown of his most eccentric moments.
Hope to see you back soon Tim!
