Everton have had a bit of a poor season on the whole and look to be on their way to a mediocre finish despite something of a turnaround under Sam Allardyce following his takeover from Ronald Koeman.
The Toffees will though be looking for a resounding finish to the season, and Allardyce will be hoping to see some good performances from his charges as they look to build ahead of next season and avoid another nightmare start to their Premier League campaign.
Our landlord here in the Tavern has been keeping a watchful eye over how the Toffees have been getting on this term, and he thinks that their is room for improvement in plenty of areas, and that the club need to move certain players on if they are to improve.
One of the players he thinks has come to the end of his shelf live at Goodison Park is defender Ashley Williams, who has started to look vulnerable over the last six months or so as he struggles to keep up with the pace of the Premier League and some it’s quality forwards.
Williams could well be in a bit of a decline, and this is not to say that he cannot continue at the top level, but just that his time with a club with ambition like Everton could be heading to an end.
The Welsh international has bags of experience though and is quality professional, something a lot of clubs would take. The likes of Wolves, heading up from the Championship, would appear to be the ideal sort of destination for a player who will be determined to prove he can still mix it with the big boys.
Everton fans, what do you think? Should Williams go? Let us know in the comments!
